Is genAI in a bubble?

A conversation with "The Pragmatic Optimist", Amrita Roy
3
Cross-post from Stay Vigilant
On Friday last week, I went on the Stay Vigilant podcast hosted by Richard Excell where I explained 1) how I am navigating the current macroeconomic landscape as the Fed starts easing its monetary policy, 2) my views on how genAI will disrupt the labor market, especially in language heavy service industries, 3) tactics and strategies I am implementing in my genAI exploration journey to remain up-to-date with the latest innovation, 4) how Eric Smidt’s latest prediction that text-to-action will allow anyone to make a copy of TikTok (or any app for the matter of fact), steal their users and program the new app to go viral is a recipe for chaos and anarchy and 5) 2025 may be a year of reckoning for genAI as monetization (or lack of it) may finally cause the bubble to burst. -

I had the great pleasure of having a conversation with

of today.

If you haven’t read her work, you definitely should. Not only does Amrita cover a wide range of very interesting topics, but she does also it with a very enjoyable writing style.

I have tried to cover a few of what I think are the interesting themes in the market on podcasts this year. I have yet to talk about AI. I thought Amrita is the perfect guest to do it because she also has a really good macro framework for thinking about the economy and markets which she also applies to AI.

How should I upskill to take advantage of AI trends? Is AI in a bubble?

You need to watch to find out.

As always …
