🥳We are expanding our AI Stock Rec Tracker offering on The Pragmatic Optimist today by introducing the Thesis Monitor to help investors track the progression of our thesis, price targets, and ratings across stocks under coverage since the beginning of the year under one single platform.
For people who are new to our publication, we first launched our AI Stock Rec Tracker in May, where we started assigning price targets and ratings across AI stocks to help investors navigate our stock recommendations with ease.
Along with price targets and ratings, we also noted the stocks that we own in our portfolio as well as the performance of our recommendations since coverage in the AI Stock Rec Tracker.
Two weeks ago, we introduced Conviction Scores to our AI Stock Rec Tracker, where we now assign a Conviction Score next to each stock (in addition to their respective price targets and ratings) based on a set of fundamental parameters. Conviction Scores allow our our readers to drive their investment decisions and portfolio allocation with more confidence.
Today, we are excited to release one more feature to the AI Stock Rec Tracker called the Thesis Monitor so that you can save time when researching investment ideas in the AI landscape and stay organized in the whole process.
With the Thesis Monitor, you no longer have to scroll through our archive on Substack or your inboxes to search for old research posts for any particular stocks from The Pragmatic Optimist.
You simply go to the AI Stock Rec Tracker spreadsheet, click on the Thesis Monitor tab, and voila, you can see all the research posts organized by stocks since the beginning of the year.
This is how it works.
So, say, you are thinking of investing in AMD AMD 0.00%↑.
You start by going to the AI Stock Rec Tracker, where you can find our updated price target, conviction score, and rating on the stock.
At the moment, AMD has a “Buy” rating with a price target of $196 per share and a Conviction Score of 11, which makes it a strong candidate.
But, before you invest in the stock, let’s say you would like to validate our price target with our past research on the company.
In that case, you can now simply click on the Thesis Monitor tab on the AI Stock Rec Tracker spreadsheet. Once you are on the Thesis Monitor tab, you can click on any of the hyperlinked posts for AMD (which are organized chronologically) to read our past research notes on the company and how we arrived at our price targets.
A quick note on our track record so far
Since the beginning of the year, we have published 21 deep-dive research reports and several threads with a total of 87 “buy” ratings through August 15 across 43 unique stocks, out of which we own 28 of them in our portfolio.
👉 Despite the recent software slump, had you invested $1000 (or any sum for that matter) each time we issued a “buy” rating on a stock, you would have had a return of 23.5% so far, roughly 2.5x higher than the S&P 500 YTD.
What comes next for this week?
This week, we will be publishing our research on Palo Alto Networks' PANW 0.00%↑ post-earnings and will update our thesis on the overall cybersecurity landscape.
We are also looking to prepare an AI Stock Rec Tracker video tutorial to help you navigate the tool with ease by Thursday, especially as we expand its features and functionality.
That’s all for today.
